Initial Thoughts on DJI Action 2 (and videography)

I bought the DJI Action 2 because it is a fun shape and it was on sale. I basically have close to zero experience taking videos before so I am going to gather some initial thoughts here.
There are plenty of actual review by people who have more experience, so I'm gonna skip most points that are already covered by other people.
First of all I really wanted DJI Action 2 to be a camera for recording daily activities. What attracted me the most was the necklace magnetic hold. I could stick it in front of me and walk around and record mundane activities.
After I watched the video from my DJI Action 2, the main problem is the z-axis shakes in the video. I have not tried the very extreme horizon stabilization on the device, but I have used Horizon stabilization and Rocky stabilization.
This has made me came into my first conclusion: I need to walk differently if I want to get usable footage. The z-axis shake is from every time my feet hitting the floor. I know I do not have a very stable upper body when I walk, still the shake from any other directions are not that bad comparing to the z-axis. I think there is a particular way to walk to avoid hitting ground as hard, and it does look slightly weird comparing to a normal walk.
I haven't used a gimbal before, but I assume it is still difficult to reduce the z-axis shake, since cheap one hand gimbals seems to mostly use rotations. After the DJI pocket 3 comes out I might be able to buy and try that, though I suspect I would still need to keep control of my walking.
I have also realized there really isn't an easy way to "just record life". All the vlogs are all based on plans. There has to be an intention to shoot. DJI Action 2 is a nice way to start shooting something but in order to create there has to be an intent.
Also I need to really learn how to use DaVinci Resolve.

This is such a relatable first impression. That z-axis shake from walking is the eternal struggle with action cams, no matter how good the stabilization is. You're spot on about intent being key – even the best gear needs a plan. For cleaning up your audio in DaVinci, sometimes you just need the dialogue isolated; checking out some best MP4 to MP3 converters can be a quick fix to extract a clean audio track for easier editing.
